You enjoyed your 3 weeks or so of vacation; saw some of the best in the world. Woke up doing something new each day, eating unique cuisines, gaining new cultural experiences and interacting with new people. Not to mention that Fitbit step count was over the roof.  ....And now it's that time to head back home.  After that long flight, you see familiar faces greeting you. You're back; Home sweet home.  Week 1: It still probably hasn't kicked in yet that you…

Lessons through travels

So here goes some life lessons that I have learned through travels, although some are obvious but I feel we need to be reminded of these :) Time goes by super-fast. The good or the bad, it all flies by. We all have anticipated for our vacation to escape work, even if for 3 weeks, just to realize in a blink that it is over and we are back sitting at that desk. So enjoy the present as much as you…

Fancy some afternoon tea on a budget?

T-buds is a neat cozy spot to come indulge in some afternoon tea. With esthetically pleasing ambiance, tasty variety of mini sandwiches and crepes on a fairly reasonable budget. Great for girls’ day out, family time or just about anyone. It is located about 5 minutes’ walk from Lawrence Station at 3343 Yonge St. I have been quite a few times and each time I love their assorted sandwiches with a pot of tea. You just tell them if you…

Canadian Gems – Exploring Calgary and Canada’s Rockies

Here is another Canadian gem to celebrate Canada’s 150th; Calgary and the breathtaking Rockies. Calgary downtown is fairly small, and one day  is more then enough to explore it in a leisurely pace. It is fairly small comparatively to downtown Toronto and Vancouver. We stayed in downtown Calgary but it all depends on what you are here for, later in the post I will share best places to stay in. So here goes our experience of Calgary and the Rockies...…

Not to mention, travelling within Canada would be much cheaper, since you won’t be losing money on exchange rates and it is rated one of the top places to visit in 2017! We did a 6 day trip during late May last year, so here are ideas of things to do while in…

Euro Trip Cont’d: Last Stop London, England

We left Barcelona early in the morning (Check out Barcelona post here); and arrived in London's Gatwick airport at around 12:30 pm. We were welcomed by heavy rain and it lasted for a few hours. If you are local, then you already know the deal, but if you are visiting , then this is a heads up; it rains in London a lot (a lot)! I honestly didn't mind the rain, as the weather did cooperate the rest of our…

Euro Trip Cont’d: Barcelona, Spain

Our third stop in this Euro trip was Barcelona, Spain. We took a train from Madrid Puerta De Atocha station at around 10 am and arrived in Barcelona Sants station around 1 o’clock in the afternoon. It took just under 3 hours. Day 1 We took a cab from the station and our hostel was just 10 minutes away. The hostel we stayed at is called “Hostal Centric”, we got a private room with three beds. It is a pretty good hostel,…

Euro trip: First stop Lisbon, Portugal

Late August last year, in sweltering hot temperatures my friends and I decided to venture into even hotter temperatures by going from Toronto to Lisbon, Portugal. I will have a post about how planning for our trip went a little later; but first! Let’s talk about our actual experiences there. We landed in Lisbon after about a 7-8 hour plane ride. As soon as we got off the plane, the warm unusually dry air hits our faces, it was about 30…
